Emergency Shelter Services
TCCAP offers two emergency homeless shelters to help adults and families who are unsheltered. They are located in Coös. However, people are accepted into shelter from all areas of the state.
Our shelters are open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Tyler Blain Shelter
The Tyler Blain House is located in Lancaster, NH. and can accommodate up to eight individuals and one two-parent family with children.
Burch House Shelter
The Burch House Shelter is located in Bethlehem, NH and can accommodate up to 15 women and children.
Eligibility
All are welcome at TCCAP Emergency Homeless Shelters. Potential shelter guests must meet the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) definition of homelessness, agree to and pass a criminal background check, be able to live independently, and have the capacity to follow shelter expectations for safe communal living.
There is not a predetermined length of stay, as each individual’s situation is unique. Shelter guests are encouraged to participate in case management with trained shelter staff to develop individualized service plans to help them identify barriers to self-sufficiency and set goals to meet their permanent housing needs.
