Client, Weatherization Services

The workers were fantastic, very polite, and cleaned up after themselves. It actually was a pleasure meeting them and having them work on our home.

Low Income Weatherization Assistance Program (LiWAP)

Tri-County CAP Weatherization programs are designed to address household health and safety needs by increasing the energy efficiency of the home.

TCCAP offers many programs to assist households in making their homes energy efficient, and not all programs are based on household income. While minor household repairs may be necessary during the process of weatherizing a home, the Weatherization Program is not a carpentry service and cannot perform home improvements or maintenance on a home.

The Low Income Weatherization Assistance Program provides qualified low-income households with free, cost-effective energy improvements to their homes. These improvements lower household energy bills and improve the comfort, quality, and safety of the home.

The Weatherization Program operates under strict federal guidelines to ensure that every eligible household receives the highest-quality of improvements available.

Heating Repair and Replacement Program (HRRP)

The Heating Repair and Replacement Program (HRRP) is designed to assist income-eligible, owner-occupied households with urgent heating system needs. Heating systems that are faulty or unsafe to operate may be repaired, or if repair is not possible, replaced at no cost to the household.

Weatherization Services are scheduled based on a federally determined priority list. Priority is given to households with elderly or disabled occupants and to families with children under the age of six (6).

How To Apply

Eligibility is based upon a Fuel & Electric Assistance application, be sure to select “yes” to Weatherization on the application.
